SEO (Search Engine Optimization) - Tip1

Friday, August 1, 2008

SEO (Search engine optimization) is the art of modifying or designing pages of website, such that they get higher ranking in SERP (Search Engine Result Page) and convert visitors in to sales.

Most of the website owner, have experience that when they have first time thought about creating their website, they were excited, and suggested designer that "I want to create a website with good graphics & flash that attracts visitor", this is a good thought.

What I would like to convince to newbies that, before designing your website ask questions why? in each stage to yourself.

Why? - Why I am designing my website.
Obviously the answer is to get more business. Will only designing a website will make more business? NO. Now ask your self, What are the sources of getting online business? Here, you are on right track. People remembers only those websites, which they visit regularly, like to check email they use Gmail, Yahoo Mail, Hotmail.....etc. but for websites like yours they use to search in search engines like Google/Yahoo/MSN etc. and visit those websites which are on first or second page. So the answer is simple your website should have to be on top ranking in search engines for your targeted keywords, that people use to search to find websites like yours.

So the tip is whenever you start designing your website keep optimization of website as per search engine in your mind. SEO (Search Engine Optimization) works best when incorporated from the start. The perfect time to optimize a website is when you design it. Most of the web designer are not aware about basics of search engine optimization. And afterwards owners ask SEO experts that their website is not performing well in search engines after designing and installed.

It is much easier, faster and more productive for SEO Expert and web designer/developer to work together as the site is being designed.
